Winter Storm
UPDATE- MON 2/15/2010:
I really hope that this is the last SNOW update. The roads and sidewalks were just getting under control and here we are expecting a good bit of snow yet again! We are expected to get another 4 to 8 inches of snow by tomorrow evening. I am so ready for spring. And, just to add salt to the wound, the average high for today is 40 degrees.
==================================
UPDATE- MON 2/8/2010:
The Valley is digging out of the snow from this weekend and there is another possible storm coming Tuesday and Wednesday with possible accumulations of 3" to 6" additional snow. Are you thinking Spring yet?
==================================
Fri 2/5/2010- Well, it looks like we are going to get hammered with snow here in the Ohio Valley. Currently, the prediction is 7"-13" of snow. As an aid, here are some useful links to help you keep track of what is happening weatherwise:
Channel 9- WTOV says they will be giving live weather updates at the top of every hour and a special edition weather update at 10pm Friday.
See the Channel 9 "Super Doppler 9000" map by clicking here. Also, here is the link to check on the "Emergency Levels" on Ohio Roads and what the various level ratings mean.
Channel 7- WTRF has its story on the storm also. Their map can be seen here.
Here is a map from weather.com. I used the 43950 zip. You can set your own zip code at the top of this page.
Also, to check out the road conditions for Ohio and West Virginia:
Ohio has a very nice map- click here. Be sure to look at the boxes on the right. Click on the "winter conditions" under the "Travel Status" section to see road conditions. This is very nicely done, although the information I saw seemed a bit outdated.
West Virginia's is here, but it doesn't seem nearly as informative.
If you have any other links you think would be of value, comment on this story and let us know.

Channel 9 WTOV is also going to have a special weather report tomorrow morning at 8am (I think).
I took a look at the channel 9 website and it says that News 9 "will bring viewers two hours of extensive weather coverage from 7am to 9am Saturday."
Thanks for the links. The Ohio Highway link is pretty cool. We are getting a lot of snow here in Barton. Going to be a long time shoveling tomorrow.
