AdenaNews.com- REAL Home Town Pride
I have found what I consider to be a "must see" website. You can take my word for one thing: Operating a website can take a lot of time and effort. So when I find one that has the depth of information found at AdenaNews.com, it is a combination of admiration of the effort needed and pride at the fact that it is an Adena resident doing it. The site is managed in its entirety by Carol Bednar. It is a labor of love and even a cursory look will immediately tell you that there have been countless hours spent on it.
I spent most of my childhood years in Adena, attending Adena elementary, West junior high, and graduated from Buckeye West high school. So I would say that I am pretty familiar with the town. But I learned a lot of history from AdenaNews.com that I did not previously know, in spite of spending my entire childhood there. One example of interesting links I found there was one that showed pictures of old schools, not just for Adena, but the entire state!
I'm not the only one that was impressed with the site. Take a look at the links here and here and you'll see that there are many former Adena residents found all across the country that have found this wonderful town site and have gushed praise on Carol's efforts to bring news and history to the Internet world.
The AdenaNews website is well worth anyone's effort and I encourage you to take a look at it for a wonderful example of a town website. But if you have any ties to Adena, this site should be required reading!
